Etiquette of Office Cubicles

 

Office partitioning can be a great improvement for any office. It gives employees and clients the needed privacy. However, in every office you will not miss to meet disrespectful people, or unpalatable behaviours that can hamper effective performance, even with an office cubicle. Below are some simple courtesies to abide to:

 

  • Respect a person’s privacy. Do not just barge in to person’s cubicle thinking that they are available to talk to. Ask for permission first. The reason why the office partition was set up in the first place was to create privacy.
  • Do not lean on other peoples cubicles to eavesdrop or to see what they are doing. This behaviour may be annoying to others.
  • Always knock before you enter other people’s cubicles.
  • Do not make unnecessary noise. Office partitions are usually not very effective in reducing noise. Therefore it is important to talk in low tones so as not to distract others.
